A dream came true…I managed to travel to the Caribbean. After spending 24 hours inside a plane and waiting in airports I arrived in my personal paradise the Grand Bahama island.
Here all you have to do is discover the numerous beaches organized or totally secluded. Some of the organized beaches I went were Lucaya, Xanadu and Taino beach. But my favorites were the secluded ones especially Gold Rock beach which is part of the Lucayan National Park. All the organized beaches were accessible by public transport or a short taxi ride from the hotel in Freeport. I managed to see the Gold Rock beach trough a tour that was taking you to see the National Park, explore some caves and finally take you to Gold Rock beach.
Other activities I took part in, although I was a bit frighted at the beginning was snorkeling. My biggest fear was any encounter with sharks. Despite my fears the experience was amazing watching the coral gardens and the colorful fish.
You can check out this guide with the best diving spots in the Bahamas.
My favorite experience though, was the close encounter with the dolphins. Aren’t they so cute?
What else I recommend that you do? Go horse back riding in a secluded beach. It was my first time on a horse an absolutely loved it.
I also enjoyed the nightlife and especially the rum and all those dancing events that were taking place.
I liked the Grand Bahama island because it’s not as overcrowed as Nassau.
