Review: Renting a London Apartment with City Relay

At the beginning of November, I travelled to London to attend the World Travel Market, a big tourism exhibition. After the end of the exhibition, my friends and I decided to extend our journey to London in order to do some sightseeing. We were 3 adults and wanted to find a place to stay in central London, close to a metro station.

In the meantime, we wanted to be comfortable so sharing a triple room in a hotel was out of the question, and on the other hand, booking 3 separate hotel rooms was very expensive. So, we decided to rent an apartment through City Relay, a company that offers luxurious apartments around London and Paris.

We booked our apartment of choice through their website and it was a pretty straightforward procedure. We immediately received a confirmation email with all the information we needed.

Prior to our arrival, we contacted the company to let them know our arrival time. We were informed that no keys were needed as we could access the apartment using a code. They also gave us the option of leaving our luggage to their offices prior to check -in, we didn’t have to as our apartment was ready when we needed it.

We  booked the Victorian Ongar Road House I, a 2 bedroom flat located within a few minutes walking distance from the Earl’s Court underground station. From there you can take the Circle, District and Picadilly lines and reach all the major tourist attractions within minutes.  Apart from the tube, there is  great bus connection as well. We took the bus one morning and we reached the Natural History Museum and Harrods in 15 minutes.

Our apartment was located on the ground floor of a two-storey building. It had two bedrooms with double beds and two bathrooms. There was ample storage space in both bedrooms. Towels, toiletries and hairdryers were also provided along with extra pillows and blankets.

Our beds were very comfortable perfect for a rest after a long day sightseeing.

The spacious living room was adjacent to the kitchen and was equipped with all the modern amenities including a comfortable sofa that could be converted into a double bed, a dining area that could accommodate 4 people and a wide screen TV.

The open plan kitchen was modern and contained an oven, a refrigerator, a freezer, a dishwasher and kitchen utensils like pots, frying pans, glasses, dishes, cutlery, a coffee and a toast maker.

Other amenities included a high-speed wi-fi, an iron and a washing machine/dryer. Please note that you should buy your own detergent.

Actually, the apartment was a home away from home. I believe that it’s a great place to stay for a group of friends or a family.

During our stay, I received an email from the company asking me if everything was ok and if I needed any assistance which I thought it was a nice touch.

I totally recommend that you book one of City Relay while you travel to London. Their apartments are luxurious,  conveniently located  and include all the modern amenities. The staff were polite and professional.

I was a guest of City Relay but as always opinions are my own.
