Sheraton Grand Krakow is a 5-star modern hotel located on the bank of the Wisla river and opposite Krakow’s stunning Wawel Castle. It offers 232 rooms and suites, some with breathtaking views over the river and the castle, a number of restaurants and bars, and a health and fitness center with an indoor swimming pool. The Sheraton hotel was my base for two nights during my recent visit to Krakow with my best friend.

Location
Sheraton Grand Krakow is ideally located in the centre of Krakow. River Wisla is exactly opposite the hotel, Wawel Castle is only 2 minutes away, and Krakow’s Market Square and the Old Town is just a 10-minute walk away. We arrived in Krakow by train, and the train station was a short taxi ride from the hotel (we paid around 5 €).
Check-In at the Sheraton Grand Krakow
As soon as we stepped into the hotel we were struck by how big and open the lobby was; the glass-roofed atrium gave an airy feeling to the public spaces. The big chandeliers, the beautiful trees and flower arrangements that were scattered around the ground floor gave it a luxurious and natural feel.
We were given a warm welcome by the reception staff who checked us in and informed us about the hotel facilities. The reception staff was very accommodating and polite. They helped us many times during our stay by answering all our questions regarding Krakow, ordering us a taxi and whatever else we needed. Although the hotel is big, we felt very intimate, very at home.
Our Room
We stayed in a Grand Deluxe Room with a view towards the Vistula river. The room was very spacious with ample storage space for our clothes and suitcases. Inside the closet, we found an ironing board, an iron, an electronic safe, fluffy bathrobes and slippers.
The room was elegantly furnished with modern wooden furniture, pastel colours with metallic details and was decorated with attention to detail. There was a big comfortable desk, ideal for doing some work and a sitting area with two comfortable armchairs by the window.
As I was staying with my friend, our room had two big single beds extremely comfortable with luxury linen and the best pillows ever. We both had a great night’s sleep.
Other room amenities included a mini bar, complimentary water, air-conditioning, an LDC Tv, and a tea and coffee making facility.
If you book directly with the hotel, you will receive complimentary Wi-Fi and the best room -rate available.
The bathroom was also spacious and boasted a bathtub, a scale, a makeup mirror and a variety of quality toiletries including even an exfoliating sponge.
The highlight of our room, besides the super comfy bed, was the breathtaking views over the river and partially the castle.
Breakfast
Breakfast was served at the Olive Restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel, under the glass atrium. The buffet included a wide choice of cereals, cakes, cold plates, fruits, pancakes, cooked options and an a la carte menu. I rarely order a la carte at breakfast but this time I gave it a go, and I was certainly not disappointed. I would say that this breakfast is among the best I have ever had, great variety, excellent quality and impeccable service.
Dinner at the Olive Restaurant
We were so thrilled with food at breakfast, so we decided to try the hotel’s Olive Restaurant as well. The setting was different from the morning with the tables decorated with candles and with the live harp music as a background. I started my meal with a Polish speciality; forest mushroom soup served with crusty bread. The soup had a delicate texture and was appetising.
I then opted for a grilled Polish beef tenderloin served with a delicious port wine sauce and potatoes, mushrooms and other grilled vegetables. Even though I ordered it well done, it was very tender. For dessert, I had bitter chocolate souffle with vanilla ice cream and blackcurrant sauce. The dessert was so nicely presented, a real work of art. We accompanied our meal with delicious red Polish wine. We had an exceptional dining experience at the Olive Restaurant, the food was delightful, the atmosphere was great and the service impeccable.
Lounge Bar & Rooftop Terrace
One of my favourite places at the Sheraton Grand Krakow Hotel was the Lounge Bar & Rooftop Terrace. It is open all day serving late breakfast, light lunch, tapas and excellent cocktails. What makes it so special is its amazing view over the Wawel Castle. If I were in Krakow during summer, I would be there all day long.
On the grounds of the hotel, you will also find a modern sports bar that serves food and drinks every night.
Fitness Centre
Amongst the facilities of the Grand Krakow hotel, there is a fully equipped gym, an indoor heated swimming pool, a sauna, and spa services that include various massage treatments.
My stay at the Sheraton Grand Krakow was an absolute delight. The hotel enjoys a prime location at the heart od Krakow, the friendly staff couldn’t do more to make us feel welcome, our room had all the amenities you would expect from a 5-star hotel, and the food was fantastic. If you are planning a luxurious break in Krakow. I would recommend staying at the Sheraton.

Have you been to Krakow?
I was a guest at the Sheraton Grand Hotel but as always opinions are my own.
how gorgeous is this place! And I must admit that next time I’ll goto Crakow I’ll check the offers and prices (I was there in January and went in a lovely hostel). With I could swim in that pool!
You should definitely come back and stay in Sheraton.
A Sheraton hotel never disappoints. The rooms are always comfy, clean, and full of features. Same with the breakfast – great variety and quality.
That is so true Hugo. We were impressed by the hotel in every way.

Amazing hotel and they did ask us what kind of bed we preferred. They might be single but they were huge and comfortable.
The Grand Krakow hotel looks like a dream. An indoor heated swimming pool, a sauna, and spa services?? Seems like a great place to be.
I love spa services too Annie.
I love all the little details about this hotel! An exfoliating sponge in the tub and live harp music at dinner? You hardly ever see that! And that rooftop terrace looks like such a relaxing place to hang out and take in the views of the castle. This really looks like a great place to stay in Krakow!
