2 Days in Singapore: Day One
Little India
Start your 2 days itinerary in Singapore with cultural exploration. Pay a visit to Little India, one of Singapore’s oldest areas.
- Explore the narrow streets, with their multi-coloured shop-houses that sell everything from jewellery to clothing to food.
- Little India is filled with chants and prayers from the many temples and mosques here.
- There are a number of food stalls and restaurants at Little India to enjoy a filling meal.
- Be sure to explore the multi-level Mustafa Center, a huge shopping destination where you can buy anything.
Discover Singapore’s Chinese heritage at Chinatown
- In this region, you’ll find the oldest temple in Singapore, the Sri Mariamman Temple, constructed by immigrants in 1827.
- The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple houses a tooth reputed to belong to Gautam Buddha.
- After dark, the streets of Chinatown come alive with music, light, and much fun. Explore Amoy Street’s artwork – it’s akin to visiting an art gallery.

Sentosa Island
Sentosa Island is a huge manmade island with enough splendid attractions to keep you busy all day.

Gardens by the Bay
- Gardens by the Bay is a wonderful mix of natural gardens and manmade structures.
- There are tall manmade supertrees which are made out of concrete metal and wood, with climbing flowering wines giving them a natural look. The Supertrees are connected to one another via a skywalk.
- At night, these supertrees are lit along with the tall natural trees, giving the entire gardens a fairytale look.
- There are also enormous seashell-shaped greenhouses maintained at mountain climates, which house thousands of cold-climate trees and plants.

Night Safari
It’s time to enjoy a thrilling night safari, which takes place in a rainforest next to the enormous Singapore Zoo.
- Two kinds of night safaris are available – one is the tram safari, and the other is the trekking safari.
- Both safaris take you through seven climate-controlled habitats, ranging from the Himalayan foothills to the Serengeti plains.
- You’ll get to meet thousands of nocturnal creatures who belong to the Americas, Asia, Africa, and Europe. They are carefully housed within zones that emulate the climatic conditions and the flora of their native habitats.
- Bars separate you from the wild dangerous creatures, while the calm ones such as wallabies and kangaroos are allowed to hop around free.

How to get to and from Singapore airport
Metro: There is no direct line on the MRT from the airport to the city center so you’ll have to change to Tanah Merah Station. From here you can take the green line heading West into the city center. Metro trains are every 7-13 minutes and run from 05:51-23:18 Monday-Friday and 05:31- 23:18 on weekends and holidays. They depart from terminals 2 and 3 at the airport. Price: S$2 Duration: 30minutes
Bus: An express airport shuttle bus runs every 15-30minutes 24/7 calling at major hotels in the city.
A public bus (No. 36/36A) also runs from the airport to the city center stopping at Marine Parade Road, Somerset, and Orchard Rd, and many other places. Buses depart every 8-12 minutes between 06:08 – 22:52 Monday – Friday and 06:07 – 22:52 weekends and holidays. Price: S$2.50-S$9 Duration: 30-90 minutes
Taxi: There are no flat-rate fees for taxis with a number of factors determining the final price. In addition to the time/distance calculated by the taximeter, there is a standard airport pickup fee of S$3 Monday-Friday and S$5 weekends and holidays. There is a toll charge when traveling after 07.00 Monday-Friday or 07.30-09.30 on weekends and holidays. An extra 25% is charged when traveling within peak hours and lastly, a 50% surcharge when traveling between midnight-6am and paying by credit card incurs a 10% surcharge too.
